Tsunami 2011
What seemed to start and finish as a perfectly harmonic and calm day on the most peaceful island of Paradise on Earth turned into an unexpected drama within a few minutes. I spent this day on Kaua'i, with a boat cruise to an enchanted grotto, coffee tasting on a plantation, and breathtaking views of Waimea Canyon under a full rainbow. I already ordered dessert at a friendly hippie bar in Kapa'a, when I got curious why everyone else is gathered in front of the TV screen and staring at it amid frequent exclamations of schlock and awe.
It turned out that they were staring at the live images from the earthquake and the subsequent tsunami hitting the coasts of Japan.
